An unemployed penguin, Flipper, who's low on money goes on a job hunt. He finds a fish shack displaying a "Help Wanted" sign. Eagerly the penguin applies to the open position and after a short chat with the owner, who is a sea lion named Gloria the penguin is hired on the spot. The penguin notices a wall filled with portraits of the previous employees, all are penguins with distinctive accessories. The penguin is handed a broom and he is told that there is a certain room that is off-limits, which is at the end of the hallway of the employee of the month wall. A sea lion customers shows up as the penguin is sweeping the kitchen, so the penguin takes their order. The customer's behaviour is very bizarre, getting extremely close to Flipper and making him uncomfortable. Flipper goes to the kitchen to look for ingredients to make the customer's order, but can't find the meat ingredient. The penguin asks Gloria about the ingredient and she goes to the off-limits room, with Flipper following behind. Flipper tries to help Gloria and attempts to go into the room, but Gloria stops Flipper and has him go back to the customer. As Flipper talks to the customer, the boss gives the customer their order while Flipper watches uneasily. After the customer eats their food and leaves, the penguin continues their cleaning duties, sweeping the floor where they notice feathers on the floor outside the forbidden room. The penguin gets curious and decides to investigate. Upon entering the room the penguin finds a few boxes of fish but spots accessories belonging to the previous employees in a pile. As the penguin looks around they spot a box labelled in the corner. When the penguin opens the box, the owner appears in the doorway and shuts the door behind him. After an undisclosed amount of time, a new penguin applies to the same job.
