PRECEDENCES
In the short film, "RESET" featuring Animal Crossing characters. We plan on using similar lighting conditions during the climax of our story, with the darker compositions for our animal inspired characters.
In "Occupied," we want to use similar lighting, with the setting being lit in unnatural green lighting. Also, we wanted to use a similar cartoony, but realistically proportioned style for the environment.
We found existing 3D models of a seal aimed in the direction of our design, where it is somewhat realistic, but also appears to be cute and friendly.
For our penguin model we wanted to have a merge between a realistic and cartoony style penguin, that way we could have the expressiveness, while still remaining relatively grounded.
